Ouch, sorry to see you are having those problems. Definitely agree with your diagnosis of yellow vine on the last one, I have seen plenty of that before, and I think you might be right about the Phytophthora too. If you've had a lot of soggy soil lately, that's what it likes.

Allen,
Sorry about your plants getting these diseases. Have you had many squash bugs? I have some now and they aren't easy to get rid of.

Allen B-

I am going to venture a guess and say both a progressing quickly. The problem in the first two images is probably getting worse by the hour, which would point to phytophthora and I suggest you cut two leaf nodes further than you see the die back and rip out and remove the sick portion of the plant. I have stopped the disease in the past this way. The plant may look hacked up but it is better than no plant if you catch it early. This is a water fungus so it can actually swim on its own and is the reason for the quick spreading.

Your 3rd image looks like YVD (yellow vine decline. Same thing here try and rip out the bad section + some and see if it progresses. This is a bacterial disease the is easily moved around by insects so that is why you want to remove the sick area quickly so you reduce the odds that it will spread to other plants. If it is very bad this plant will abort any pumpkins on it and basically go into shut down mode.

Sorry for the lack of "good news" but at least this may help you ID what you have, and I did my best to try and offer suggestions on what to do in hopes of saving a portion of your season.

Good advice Matt, I have seen both these problems in my patch. I was able to salvage the season with the Phytophtora by doing what Matt says. I bet we see a lot of this in the next few weeks with growers on silts and clays soils that are too wet. Couple that with the vines being buried and you have a great situation for vines to turn to mush. (For the time being I have actually stopped burying mine)
With the yellow vine disease I would rip it out now. I have never been able to save one with YVD. I just lost one yesterday to it, hopefully no more casualties this year.
