I'm new to cucumber beetles and squash bugs. Last year was my first experience with them, and they won! This year I'm a little better prepared, I hope! I'm finding eggs on the underside of leafs, and wonder, who left them? they are small and round and brown in color. They are left in groups of 15-20 eggs, usually near the leaf veins. Any thoughts and recommendations, would be greatly appreciated.......Terry

Squash bugs, you can rub them into your hand and squish them. I bet they are shiny brown.

I second the squash bug theory.Youd better start spraying with Talstar/cyanara or equivalent pyrethrin or theyll wipe you out with yellow vine disease. If you see eggs theyve been living in the plant for awhile. You can cut out the egg deposits.

Suash bugs for sure. There seems to be a lot more of them around this year.

If you remove the eggs by hand, dispose of them in a manner that ensures they will not hatch....toilet flush them, soak them in gasoline. They do not need a leaf to hatch. Couple years ago I placed about 20 eggs in a sealed container with enough bleach to submerge them....they hatched.....
