my pumpkin has a hole and a crack by the stem ,photo here
http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=209997
The hole is about 1/4 " by 1/8 inch but opens up inside and goes about 1 to 1.5"
The split is 1.5 to 2 " deep, I put a sulfur/fungicide onto some paper, held it near the holes and blew air through a straw to blow it into the holes.
I doubt much made into the small hole. I now have a fan blowing onto this area.
I plan to caulk the holes later today, some questions
Do you try do dry out the inside of the hole be for caulking? Do you pack the caulk to remove any air pockets.
The hole with the small opening, should I enlarge it enough to force the caulk back into the hole.
Do you think it would help to mix some of the powder sulfur/fungicide into the caulk be for I use it.
Sorry for all of the questions.
