We have a very healthy looking, large plant that has leaves that are droopy and brownish on the edges of the leaves approximately 1" to 1 1/2" around the edge. This only occurs on the outer reaches of the vine. The leaves in the middle of the plant are fine and healthy looking.
Also, we have another plant that has one vine that has flattened. In other words it has no "hollow" center. My wife describes it as "ribbon vine". The plant looks healthy
otherwise.
Any input on either problem?

I have seen similar leaves on my plant. I don't know if it is "heat damage" or "insecticide burn" because it tends to occur after insect spraying and during hot days. Maybe a combo of both, I don't know, but following new growth usually comes in OK so I have just been living with it.

I have heard many discussions on your ribbon vine, also called "flat vine"; there seems to have been a lot of those this year. I think most people believe it is genetic and is generally undesireable...that is, until someone grows a 1000 lb'er on one. --Bruiser

Bill,

My guess is that your leaves curled from the heat, as long as the entire plant is not wilting, you should be O.K. Water overhead or mist in the heat of the day, a wilting plant is not a growing plant!
