Do the larvae die as they burrow into the stem ? If so do they die be for they get into the plant,the female lays eggs on the plant so I assume the adult is unaffected.

As they eat the vine the merit in the vine kills the small bugs. If the merit isn't timed right the quantity is not enough to kill them and they bore into the vine. As they get bigger it takes more merit to kill them. The best way is to spray with a contact and merit so if one product isn't enough the other will finish them off.

So if applied correctly the larvae don't do much damage ? I plan on spraying about every 10 days during prime time.
I have always wondered how much damage they could do before dieing
