ILL TELL YOU WHAT MY PROBLEM IS :) actually Ill show whats going on in my diary in this post http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=217312

also see the previous post and the two following ones , after thinking about it more today, and since I have just one leaf on each plant doing this (so far)on the fulk and shenoha, I think maybe something happened to both of them at the same time and now it has passed.

Both were planted, sprouted, moved outside, and fertilized at the same time.

If you think its a herbicide problem I will have my soil tested and possible the horse manure I have been using.

Farming- a bunch of catastrophies that result in a lifestyle

I had two plants with this 'crumpled up tin foil' leaf look. One of them I thought wasn't going to make it at all- it just opened it's first male yesterday. The other plant 'grew out' of it's crumpled foil with no issues. I followed all the links you posted. The only thing I can come up with, based mainly on the clumping of the male flowers, is more P than N? I'm no expert tho.

When transplanting many of the first couple leaves develop problems sometimes due to fluctuating temps, shock, little N available etc... There always seems to be a "getting set" period with all plants and some go more smooth than others. Some years my first few leaves look great and grow huge after transplant and others decline but once the plants gets set or really rooted, it'll take off. Also watch sprays on new leaves as they can get burnt easily and that little burn or tear will be magnified 10 fold once it develops.

The temps did go up and down 40s to 80s each day then a week of cloudy skies. LB the clumping of male flowers you refer to may have beenthe plant that was severely stressed out and was growing in the shade.

I was going to use it just for male flowers.

I have had leaves that looked like that for many springs due to our cold weather. I think your plant will be fine.

The edge of the leaf got damaged...most likely sun burn or burnt by your lights when they first started showing.

The crinkling is because the edge cant grow and the rest of the leaf is still growing. If you take a REAL sharp pair of scissors and trim the edge off, it will stop crinkling up (but it wont get bigger on the side you cut.)

Later on in the summer when it is extremely hot if the plant is growing fast, the 4 or 5th leaf back will do this if you don't shade the tip because the plant can't get enough water to those leaves as they grow.

Thanks for the help ,I was getting bummed out about it but you relieved the stress, like a theripest, just hope its not 250$ per hour.

It makes since the leaf cringling because it can't grow

I don't quite now what cntryboy means by his last sentence

Cntryboys last sentence\ paragraph means the vine will quit growing due to heat and lack of moisture.. Same as what these new transplants are going through.
