My SVB traps captured 2 moths this weekend without using the lure. Instead of vapor tape, I use one lint roller sheet in each trap. I may miss some but this set up works at least in part.....

This proves that the traps do not bring the SVB's into your patch, as in order for you to catch them it was purely a visual attraction.
The key part that most growers seem to miss is that it is the actual smell of the plants that is what brings the SVB's in.
The traps will work (to some degree) with no pheromone, and even when the pheromone is added the coverage radius is small compared to the radius that the moths can smell the plants.
