Is there an added risk of plant injury if you use a spreader sticker with the bug spray and fungicides? I have not been able to find any mention of pumpkin growers on the forums using spreader stickers.

Neem is a great spreader sticker- like any oil based product, use it in conjunction with your other sprays near sunset. I t has the added benefit of being an insect and fungicide as well.

Thanks LB - a local university ag person said in order to get the most out of the sprays that I needed to use a sticker spreader but I have never seen anyone on the grower diaries talk about it. Maybe everyone is using it and I have been the only one not using it. I am kind of new to this and it seems these plants are sensitive to just about everything.

I wonder BG, if it's an elevation thing? I'm only 4' above sea level here. Cache: As an insect/fungus the jug says 2oz per gallon. As just a spreader sticker, 1 oz should be fine per gallon. Like I said it IS an oil, so don't spray in the mornings thinking it will dry off enough before sun comes up. I spray at dusk, that way it's got all night to dry/soak in.

I believe it’s a latitude thing with lack of cloud cover and temps of 90+ with lower humidity’s. I can’t spray copper either. I’ve even tried some of the fancier horticulture oils but i have to cut them so far they lose effectiveness. I have used Yucca extract to help as a spreader/sticker. Not sure how good it is but at least it doesn't burn. Probably acts similar to molasses in this application.

Read the label of your product, if it needs a spreader sticker the label will tell you, otherwise I would not.
