Got massive flaging on #772 main vine has texture like steemed vegetables was able to push my finger threw to backside of vine where ther was some firm strands. I will not try a pumpkin on this main part of plant but I'm curious Could this be the same fungas or bacteria that causes faoming stumps?i had it late last seAson in practically the same location I just thought it was old age. Any one ?

Yup I did. Pic in my diary. I looked for them first I am fimilar with the holes and frass they make. That was my first thought when seeing plant from a distance. Up close it was worse just a rottin smelling vine interior. Thanks

Vine rot? Do you have brown spots on vine? Did you bury your vines? Is your soil always real wet?

Sounds like vine rot to me. That stuff will run thru the vine like crazy, believe me.

Yes buried vines yes wet sandy soil much rain this year. I guess I will hope for the best. Hope it just gets that plant not others. Thanks

Start washing soil off of vines now. I have had this for three years in a row. I did not bury any vines this year so I now have half of the root growth I should and maybe that is why my early numbers are low....

I removed vine that looked bad will open or wash what little vine there is left to get air and start checking other plants
