I believe I have a foamer see the picture here

last week I noticed something just like this in the same location and when I touched it, it was dried up and fell off
into dust, this is today, watered yesterday and foliar sprayed.

I have on hand peroxide, sulpher, and captian, alcohol if any of those will work. Ive read to drill it and use peroxide, or split it open 1/2" below the surface and up another 4".

Wondering since its coming from an old stem if I should cut it flush and just leave it.This is 1217.5 Zappa
my only plant with a decent pumpkin I think it was taping 116 pounds at 22 DAP. I will have some time to work
on it later today and tomorrow morning and just bought a fan at wally world.

The temps have been cool at night being in the upper 50s with a chance of rain tomorrow and the day after

if it were me.
I would cut that side vine completely off flush with the main and see what it looked like
if it is still white and healthy, then I would treat with peroxide a dusting of sulfur or captan, put a fan on it, and cover to keep it dry from rain and sprinklers.

Watch it close. Press gently all over the stump to make sure there are no wet or soft spots.

If it continues to weep (wet under the stump or any part of the stump stays wet), then you have to go to the drip a hole to let the excess fluid out instead of sit in there and develop a secondary bacterial infection)

Based on past experience, I would also remove the other two sides that are directly connected to the stump. Most likely they are dead headed and I think they push too much back to the stump which causes the problem in the first place, but that is just my opinion, I have nothing other than my observations to go by. Since we stop letting sides grow directly out of the first foot of the main, we haven't lost a stump.

Started cutting, the color was dark and brownish with soft spots ,removed what looked bad gave it a soak in peroxide then used sulfer, pictures will be in my diary soon

I did know about the vines coming from the stump, it was pretty trashy looking, this was a plant that also had the main broke off when it was small
