Okay so pumpkin is done growing, has been for a couple weeks. Main vine had rotted up to within 3 feet of stem and pumpkin on the stump side of the stem, and less than a foot on the other side. so naturally I snipped it. So now, do to bad weather here in the south for several days and of course normal day to day responsibilities such as work n stuff, it's been a few days since I last checked on her. Now the vine and stem have rotted almost right up to the pumpkin itself, within an inch of it anyways. I don't think it has reached the fruit, I can't really tell. We have 2 weeks before nearest weigh off in NC... I don't know what to do to help the situation, or If there is any hope at all in getting it to a weigh off now. Any advice?

Trim it off, treat it with bleach or peroxide or sulfur, get it somewhere cool, put a fan on the stem to dry it out, and hope for the best.
