I sure would appreciate some help. For the past several years I have been infested with squash bugs, cucumber beetles, consequently I believe these insects can transmit the watermelon mosiac virus. I sprayed weekly with sevin but it never seem to completely eliminate these pests. All my vines contracted the virus. Can someone give me some advice here on how to take care of these insects. Thanks, Russ

I'm sure you will get plenty of responses. Use Warrior T. I found this year using it I never had a bug 1 after I began using this stuff. Very expensive though, might want to go in with someone and split it up. A quart will last you years! Somewhere on this site I read in last day or two, someone is looking to get some and split it up along with the cost. It was a very recent post!! I'd go that direction.

Good Luck,
Mike

I don’t know about insect control but I suggest you to eliminate all the weeds and vegetables around your patch because they could be a reservoir of the virus. Jernej

See Len's article on using the Systemic Insecticide "Imidacloprid" (various trade names) in the "how to" section of this website. That will get things started.
