Fungus is caused by what???Moisture?? We got lots of rain this past weekend,,my soil does not drain the best,,,so if fungus is caused by moisture,,when I sppray the plants with a fungicide it will be putting more moisture in the ground,,which caused it in the first place,,,this wont hurt the plant geting more moisture????Can I fertilize and spray fungicide at the same time??//

Yo Jeff,
Mildew grows in warm damp conditions. You should spray your plants before it happens as it multiplies very fast in these conditions. I spray every week to prevent an attack and yes you can fertilize and spray fungicide at the same time.

I would like to hear what you folks think is the best fungicide.?? Do they all damage new growth? I read that Zero Tolerance was an excellant disinfectant that will not hurt new growth but I can't find a source for it.

I've been using Daconil, and have no problem hurting new growth. I've also used Ridomil(expensive!), when I thought I might have had the start of Phyto. As with insecticides, you should refrain from using the same thing over and over again. Insects and fungus can both adapt and build up immunities to these things!Spraying now for powdery mildew will not change the affected leaves, only prevent it on the new growth.
