What is the quickest product to use on a soft spot on the stem. In the past, I have removed the soft tissue, used 10% bleach solution, dusted straight Captan on the stem, and put a fan on it. I have read to use sulfur, or copper fungicides also can give good results. Thanks

I have had good luck painting full strength Daconil on the spot after scraping off the crud.

Some stem rots just don't stop, but I agree with daconil full strength and a fan on it.

After removing the soft tissue, we use strong peroxide, and a fan. Baquacil (brand name) or a generic peroxide pool oxidizer is 27% peroxide. You can put it on straight, then get a fan on it, and shield if from the rain, sun on the stem is a good thing too. If you use sulfur, captan, or daconil etc, make sure it doesn't keep the spot from drying out.

a word of caution, anything over 6% peroxide WILL give you a chemical burn, so wear plastic/latex gloves.

KC Kevin. Is that concentrated daconil or after it has been diluted?
