Is this the beginning of bacterial wilt?
Also any ideas what is causing the bumps on the leaf stems? Does not occur on all stems.

Thank you

It looks to be sunburn not bacterial wilt. The bumps are normal for some plants, possibly caused by too much water or nitrogen

definitely sunburnt leaf
bumps on leaf stalk growing too fast due to high N.
The "beginning of bacterial wilt" happens very quickly to a large area of the plant and then spreads. Example http://tinyurl.com/nuu2lvl

Great! Thank you. We have had plenty of both sun and rain - brain baking hot followed by evening thunderstorms. The last few days have been cooler and the impacted leaves are recovering. Just need some suntan lotion!

The leaf damage is sunburn
The leaf stalk bumps are typically caused by excessive nitrogen which can also increase the odds of leaf burn.
Reduce the nitrogen and increase the water (by mist would be the best method) and you will reduce both of your plant issues.
