I had , yes HAD, two pumpkins going and when I went out to check on them...teeth marks! Something was having a midnight snack at my expense. What can you do to help keep the critters from the pumpkins? I dont have the option for fencing, but I dont want to spend all my time creating a wonderful salad bar for the hairy bastards!

without a fence is tough We have a dog and cats, so most varmints stay away.
you can try a radio on a talk radio show - music don't seem to be as effective as people talking traps coyote urine human hair pepper spray motion activated sprinkler motion activated noise (like a radio plugged into a motion light)
Good luck

Ok, I will give some of these a try, since I do not want my season ruined because of some hungry critters. Thanks for the replies!

I noticed that rabbits dont like Warrior II, Bifethrin, and Avid... All good insecticides for your patch... I combo it with Eagle II... also very smelly....works better than Coyote unrine ... I have tried both....I also hung up a picture of Eddy next to each pumpkin..Worked well on the rabbitZ... and scared the hell out of BIZ... :)
