any idea on what this is and is there any hope for a rebound. ?i know my friend a first year grower is already behind on the bug spraying.

Sometimes yellow stem and vine means orange pumpkin. I have some like that and I'm not worried. If leaf problems show up, then worry.

I had a problem in my old patch with vines and stem turning yellow followed by a total collapse of the plant. Only thing I figured out was that it seemed to happen when the ground was too wet (had a lot of heavy clay in my old patch).
