Kind Growers,
I'm new to growing giants, but have grown traditional pumpkin varieties for a time. During a recent scouting, I noticed the presence of leaf browning, which appears to be prevalent in the field. I was wondering if anyone here could provide some insight into what I'm dealing with. I realize this isn't in reference to a giant pumpkin plant, but I was hoping someone could help me all the same. I'm wondering if this is gummy stem blight, some other foliar disease, or just sunscald. Any clues? Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated. I'm in Nebraska, and we had a relatively wet spring. Temps have been in the 90s and are in the upper 70s this week.

Im not no pro, but it doesn't look like any disease that I have ever seen. Perhaps wind damage. But like I said I am no pro. Good Luck.

Thanks, croley bend and baitman, for your replies. I hadn't considered wind damage, but we did recently experience a pretty serious wind storm (80 mph shear) that whipped the plants around pretty good.
Here's another example of what I'm seeing. This one doesn't have holes/tears to the same extent, but there's a considerable brown/tan area. Thanks again for the replies.

This could be a leaf attached to the earlier parts of the main vine, isn´t it? ...the part with the oldest leaves of the plant, where the leaves start to die first...that´s what it looks like to me.

Thanks, VTSteve. The guide was very helpful. Nothing stands out as being an exact match, but I do still wonder if it could be early signs of gummy stem blight. We've never experienced gummy stem, so I'm not familiar with its signs/cycle.
Thanks for the reply, Pumpking. The brown does seem to be appear on the oldest leaves. Are you indicating it would be normal for these leaves to show browning? The plants otherwise appear to be in full health.

That´s what I wanted to say, some of the oldest leaves start to die in July but the plant is still strong and healthy. No need to worry about that as long as this kind of leaves appears only along the first couple of ft of the main vine and perhaps some first leaves of the first secondaries.
