I'm pretty sure my plant came down with yellow vine disease. have a 425 lb kin that just stopped growing. I know most pull the plant but I was wondering if it's ok to just leave the kin on the plant. will the disease affect the seeds if left on the vine. thanks for any help.

You can leave it on, but if you truly have YVD, the fruit will soon be a pile of mush. I am not sure about the seed thing. I would look at Brotherdaves diary starting back around 2010 or so. He knows a lot about this particular disease, unfortunately Dave has had more experience with it than anyone else that I know. His diary has some good pictures of the disease. My 2012 diary also has some good pictures.

YVD is spread by insects, nothing to lose by leaving it on. If your pumpkin is less than day 40 you probably won't have any seeds to worry about. Sorry but I think mush is in the forecast. You need to go systemic and contact on the insecticide. I rotate every 2 weeks.

day 30 about 300lbs. no visible signs of a problem until this. Tested negative for fusarium but positive for YVD.
No viable seeds. http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=185986
