Has anyone kept a pumpkin alive that has cracked into the cavity ? I have heard they can still gain some weight but that seems to only last about one week.It gained 126 pounds in the last 7 days.

I could stick a grass stalk inside today, but the crack was full of sulfur would that matter at all ?

Should I just pick it and show it off while I can ?

Put some latex caulk or bees wax to seal the hole. If it keeps growing your ok-watch for rot right around the crack or little acne specs on the skin-then its a goner

I had a pin hole in one last year I covered the hole with some wax from a toilet wax ring.. She put on another 100 to 150 pounds .. She was good enough that someone bought it. She held for a few weeks that way

I cut it off,my work schedule wouldnt didnt allow me to pick it at my leisure ,I had two last year that popped and they didnt last very long at all.

I would rather show it off for a week or two ,than let it grow another week and rot in the patch
