The blossom end has ingrown about 8 to 10 inches and is now pushing on the boss what was the flower. I have been trimming it down but its getting to the center. Can I cut it away or just let nature take its course.

Wait and see what someone else says, but if the pumpkin is going to close up and smash the button then it may rot so I would remove it.
