Hi all, I'm in a bit of a desperate situation here. My fruit has been developing cracks, seeping liquid(sap) but has held solid. I chalked it up as normal late season cantaloping. Within the last few days an area has developed that is softer than the surrounding area, only slightly different coloring, no leaking and no foul smells. This area developed on the blossom end and I'm a bit lost on how to keep it sound for the remaining 2 weeks. I scraped skin away, dug what I could out, treated with hydrogen peroxide, alcohol and dusted with sulfur. The area still seems a bit spongy, but I'm concerned about hitting the cavity. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice? I'd hate to lose my only remaining fruit.
I'll post some diary pics. Thank you in advance!

Keep it dry as possible. Doesn't look good, Im sorry to say that for sure. Been there done that. Is it still growing? Its hard to dry that large of an area but try your best to get it to dry and harden. I had one that had a spot and every day I cleaned it out, applied sulfur, fan and well, my hand finially went thru. I wish you luck. Im sorry to see this.
