My pumpkin is developing a tear on top. It is trying to heal but it is tearing/splitting faster than it can heal as is still growing! Still have just under 4 weeks before I pick her and with the weather looking pretty good I am a little worried she is not going to make it! She has on OTT of about 400 now. What is my best plan of attack? I have tried to start a diary but can't upload pictures for some reason.

Right on top about 13inchs from the stem and is about 12inchs long running towards the blossom end. Only about 1/4 inch deep but getting wider and longer each day. I'm in New Zealand so just had another look now and a couples more have appeared since this morning. :) giant pumpkin growing is stressful lol

Late growth spurt? Did you change anything, water or fert? I agree with porkchop also keep the shade cover on as long as the inside flesh doesn't have a matching split going you should be okay and you won't know that till the autopsy. GrowEmBig!
