Hello all,
Well this is it my last chance at a pumpkin for 4 years at least. Off to college next year, and I'm hoping this is my year. Hoping for a 400 pound plus. My best was 270 two years ago.
So to my main question. I plan to keep to plants in the ground and I am going to be keeping them on the edge of my vegetable garden. I have been advised to use merit twice a growing season to keep bugs at bay. However is this safe since they are close to the vegetable plants? If not what else is safe and does a good job.
The other downfall I've suffered is the root rot. Which I think is a fungus. What is a good fungicide to use? Also needs to be safe for gardens.
I wish you all the best this year. I appreciate any advice!
Thanks!

Last year I called Bayer regarding their vegetable imidacloprid (merit) product. They recommend a distance of 3-5 feet for plants you do not wish to treat.
