I have caught 8 svb's in my traps. I know they should be male looking for the female. I haven't seen any flying and no sign of frass from grubs. So I was wondering g if the males come out before the females and that is how we disrupt the cycle? I also used a systemic to stop the grub stage.

Maybe if I ask it this way I can get an answer. Male SVB illegal immigrants are crossing the wall I built (AKA fence). And are looking to impregnate females to create anchor babies and eat all the pumpkin plants that I've worked so hard for. Do the males usually get there before the females? I haven't seen any flying around yet. Just the ones I caught in the sting operation where I set out traps enticing them with pheromones so they think they are finding females. LOL!!!!!!!

I have had my vines exposed for literally 24 hours. Tonight I had to do some late night work on the patch and wouldn't you know. A fricken vine borer was on the open vine 2 ft from my pumpkin. I made these vine "risers" enabling the vines to lift as the pumpkin grows. This though forced me to unearth the vines briefly. I sure hope that this s.o.b didn't ruin my great progress.
