Two problems haven't seen before. Healthy vine but nothing other than males for the first 17 feet.females at19 and 21 both looked good for 3days but never grew past marble size and about day5 began to shrivel. Soil test was done and amendments added. Any ideas?

Sometimes the first couple of females fail to grow. It just happens that way. Maybe a higher phosphorus (bloom booster) fertilizer might help. If soil is OK and no sign of disease, there is not much you can do but wait. But a bigger plant at pollination can mean a faster growing pumpkin and not much difference at harvest time.

Duh, here I am w/sorta opposite problem? Every lil pkn on all (well 3 outta 4) of the plants in my AG patch, seem to be pollinated b/4 I even see em. I have controlled pollinations completed on 4 out of 4 plants. Biggest pkn in the patch is the open one!!! Peace, Wayne
