I had a skunk attack a fruit about the size of a soccer ball last night. before he did much damage(deep scratches) my Rott got into with the skunk, but that is another story!! I read one post somewhere about putting something on scratches or oozing splits. Can anybody tell me what to use?

This is one of my best growing pumpkins

Most people use a fungicide powder, like Captan or Sulfer. this will help prevent the wound from rotting.

Why do small animals love destroying pumpkins? I doesn't look like food to me!

I've had a raccoon "dancing" on top of one of my AG's for several nights now. I covered it with a black sheet and there were footprints all over it! So far he's been smart enough to avoid the trap, but his days are numbered! Raccoons are playful and I guess a big round pumpkin to a coon is like a "beachball" to a kid!
