Admire is the ticket. Imidacloprid is the active ingredient. Bayer Corp. makes it. There is a Canadian version but the name escapes me. I'll find it & post later.

Brent has 2 oz jars of Merit 75 at SeedOutlet for $44.95. It's not possible for him to ship it to Canada though.

Gaucho® is registered in Canada. It looks like Admire® is too.

If you give the word aphids to Google and read long enough you will find that no poision is effective because they become monster insects very quickly. One of the simplest facts is that they can not climb back onto the plant if knocked of. One of the best ways to knock them of is mildly soapy water sprayed from your regular garden sprayer.

The cost of this approach is quite low. :) Don't think for a moment that any named insect spray will get them and not miss a few that start the next hatch of super resistant aphids. Monster aphids if you will that you can not controll in future hatches.

Ants grow aphids like cattle for honeydew which they produce. They even pick them from the ground if they fall and take them to fresh shoots. Jernej
