the gr8 pumpkin

Norton, MA

This is for sale on seedoutlet.com. Will it last a whole season on a 1200 sq. ft. patch? Will it take care of SVB's and squash bugs? How is it applied? Has anybody had success with it before? Thanks, Alex.

Used properly this will last a long time...applications are minute and last a long time...while its a systemic you might need to supplement from time to time with a good knockdown spray during peak infestations. chuck

The lowest price I've seen online is $57 at some Rose growers website.

1200 square feet will require 4.5 teaspoons. I apply once 2 weeks before planting out. Then again at the same rate after 90 days.

At the heavy rate, 2 oz will treat 13,600 sq ft one time.

How do Grubex granules measure up against Merit ?
Does Grubex or Merit hang around from season to season ?
Thanks in advance for any input!

Woody ornamentals "hang on" to Merit from one season to the next. But open soils don't. Bacteria kills it off.

Be careful of Grubex. Scotts got mad at Bayer when they decided to sell their products directly in the same retail arena that Scotts calls home. So they switched the chemical in Grubex from Imidacloprid to Halofenozide to demonstrate their displeasure.

Halofenozide is *NOT* useful for us.

But rumor has it Scotts switched back to Imidacloprid. I'll check when I have time.

Either way. Check the bag for it's active ingredient & choose wisely.

I did spot a bag of grubex with imidcloprid at our local home depot...

Then it sounds like Scott's has gone back. I saw the same thing at a local Garden Center I sell to earlier in the week but didn't ask him how old the bag was. It looked new.

How much water does it take for the 4.5 teaspoons to cover 1200 sq. ft.
