This year my pumpkin stems never matured into woody stems. Thought pumpkins all grew ok the stems remained green, spongy, and pliable. They had the same pliability as a hot dog. The lab said it could be the result of to much nitrogen but had know for sure answer. Anyone ever experience "Green Wiener Stem Syndrome".

Field pumpkins generally turn woody after harvest, Atlantic giant stems are mostly water and don't generally turn woody or stay in tact very well after harvest.

More silica less silicone maybe.
