I germenated, my seed 3 days ago soaking it in water , then placing it in a baggy, then placing it on top of my computer, after a day and a half i planted the seed into stay green potting mix, after 2 days i could see it coming through the soil so i placed a regular 40 watt bulb 5 inches over top of it, well in about another 2 days, 2 leaves appear and on the corner of the leaves it looks like a brown mold is on it, when i touch it it is kinda slimmy, can anyone tell me what this is and did i do something wrong? i cut the brown spots off the corners and it seems like its doing ok.

Burning it would make it dry and crunchy, not slimy, hmmmm?
Are the leaves you are talking about oval shaped with one on each side or are they more jagged? If it doesn't come back on more leaves I say grow it. Alex.

yea its on both sides of the leaves, its in the spot of both leaves where they where stuck together before they opened. this make sense?, it almost looks like both leaves was held together and someone held a match under them, the rest of the leaf is green, when i touched the brown spot it was slimmy and wet.

These are called the cot leaves. They will only be around until the other (true) leaves come. I don't know a whole lot about diseases but it doesn't sound like anything I know of. Wait for some other responses, someone will recognize it. Tell us if it spreads to the new leaves. Good luck, Alex.

That seedling will be fine...separate the seedleaves if they're still stuck together and they will be fine.......G

i have the plant outside now and it seems to be doing ok, growing slow though, i have it under a cold fram at night and there is two more leaves forming out of the middle, the temps here in ohio have been 60,s to 70,s no frost yet the past week and a half, hope it stays that way, im coving it up at night just to be on the safe side, i started that as my test seed maybe it will be a good thing i planted it outside already if the weather stays like this,i have 2 seeds germinating now , but no sigs of life yet its been about 3 days.
