I'm afraid the powdery mildew has won most of the battles in my first year of pumpkin growth. This, in spite of spraying with Daconil. I'm wondering if I used too little chemical per gallon of water. My best interpretation was to use 1 Tbs. per Gal. However. I've used much higher proportions treating fungus on irises.

So what proportions are you folks using?

I use 6 tablespoons per 5-10 gallons....Works best if sprayed in morning..

I recommend you use NOVA, it seems to do very well once powdery mildew has started taking over. Check with your lacal AG agent.

My Daconil label said 2-3TBS per gallon for pumpkins.

The BEST thing out there is supposed to be Quadris, but it's too expensive. It also controls many of the cucurbit problems such as Bacterial leaf spot, Belly rot, Downy & Powdery mildew, Gummy stem blight, Scab & Septoria leaf spot.

Is anybody using this or other brands of azoxystrobin?

The one Tbs. I used didn't help me much. I started on one hill at a young age and the mildew still took hold. I'm certain I used 9 Tbs./Gallon for fungus on my iris. One Tbs. sounded light, now that I think about it.

My dealer told me $300-$350 a gallon! I would have asked if he could be more accurate but at that price, who cares? You only need 11-15 ounces per acre so a Tablespoon should be enough for my patch. Maybe John & Ken should buy a gallon & sell it by the ounce on the Equipment for Sale page. It's not restricted so there shouldn't be a problem, and at $10-$15 for an ounce or two delivered, we'd be way ahead of Daconil and they could make some money for the bigpumpkins.com site...
