plants are in garden in green houses there at first true leaf stage they have small black insects on them I'm assuming they are aphids. I had them last year real bad, Scimitar and seven had no affect I never did get rid of them. I was told provado would work so I have some for this year. The plants seem to young to use it now do I wait or apply a diluted amount on them ? ---------- Quinn

Provado is Imidacloprid. Same as Admire/Merit.Marathon, etc. Drench the roots. Rate is 4 level teaspoons per 1000 sq ft or 1 teaspoon per 250 sq ft. You can progressively reduce the area from there. Use whatever quantity of water you're comfortable with. I find more water is better than less. Irrigate afterward to move the material into the roots, out of the sun & off the young plants. I did ours on the day of planting out this year & sprayed the 3 leaved plants directly with no ill effect on a cloudy drizzly day.

read Len Stellpflug's article in this website's "How To" section. The Admire Len used is the same as Provado.
