Oh my God. That is sooooo illegal in this state. LOL Does he give you a copy of the new label & redress the jug? If not, it's illegal there too?

Some "generic Roundup" is actually made by Monsanto under trade class contracts. We have one that is. ProsecutorPro is real deal Monsanto Roundup Pro in our bottle. But regular Prosecutor is made by Riverdale & contains only one half the surfactant.

Dupont is making the lousiest one that I know of. It has no surfactant at all & is selling for around $20 a gallon. That's way below Monsanto's distributor cost. LOL

Add "Scythe" herbicide to it & watch the weeds keel over & die while you work. The stuff is organic but it works unusually well. Smells funny though.

Is there any problem with the Scythe killing the top growth to quickly thereby not allowing the Roundup to translocate to the roots and killing perennials such as canada thistle?

One would certainly think so. I did. But my experience has been that unless we're treating woody brush or vining weeds, Scythe does nothing to interfere with the translocation of glyphosate.

Bindweed is a vining weed.
I thought glyphosphate killed everything why spend money on adding another chemical which may make it less effective?

Pro grounds people like Scythe because of the rapid results. When treating long fence lines, the kill is evident within minutes. So returning after a refill involves no misses or repeats. The treatment line is also much sharper & thinner than Roundup which is notoriously wide after translocation. Finale was gaining popularity for this reason for a while but has wained for cost reasons.

Scythe actually improves the kill on certain other hard to wet weeds (Violets, Oxalis, Black Medic, etc). And since Roundup has trouble with these, it's a good fit.

Speed is important to Lawn Care folks because homeowners know the treatment was done & is working when they arrive home the same day of treatment. So the thoery is it's easier to get paid without incident.

But it's the State of NY where I have seen the greatest increase in sales. Scythe is a Reduced Risk pesticide which means it is exempt from the "Neighbor Notification Law". So folks there are replacing Roundup with Scythe, not adding them together. This saves them a fortune anually in not having to engage in costly notification.
