My next door neaighbour is haveing a problem with
insects. all the leaves on his tomatoe plants are being
eating alive top to bottom. My rubard along the side fence
same thing last week it started with little holes now there is bascially NO leaves left on the plants, On the other hand
my patch # 1 NOTHING has been touched this is very odd because you think whatever is eatting the rubarb leaves and tomatoes leaves would jump the fence and into my patch.

i looked over his plants well along with my rubard is isnt rabbits because they take BIG chunks these are small holes that keep getting larger dureing the nigth.. it MUST be a bug at night that does this damage to the plants any idea what kinda bug it may be? and how can i stop them?

maybe snails or slugs i have the same problem along with a yellow bug with a black stripe dont know what they are but i know that sluggo or bug be gone works on the snails so i hope this helps and if anyone knows what the yellow bugs with black stripes are please tell me they are small and skinny not like a beetle. thanks burrhead

Keith...those were probably cucumber beetles you're referring to. They don't necessarily "look" like the big black beetles you're probably used to seeing.

Look for tomatoe horn worms on tomato and slugs on rubarb......never seen a slug hop-the-fence........would pay good money to see that.....G

Tomato Horn Worms are cool. You find one of them & you'll know it. And I've never seen one eating pumpkins, but once the tomatoes are dead they might.
