tremor, can you tell us a little about Talstar and the
mixing rate for mls per gallon. i am interested in
using anything that works on the svb and might alternate
from demand cs to talstar every other spraying to
switch it up on them.
thanks
shazzy

Talstar-One isn't labeled for Pumpkins at all. It's a non-restricted Turf, Ornamental & Pest Control version of Bifernthrin at 7.9%.

Capture is FMC's Bifenthrin for crops including all majore pests of Pumpkins at 25.1%. So Capture is 3 times stronger.

Therefore the nominal ornamental rate of .33 oz (9mls or cc) per gallon is enough for Talstar-One. I have used the highest rate of 1 oz per gallon as a test during hot weather on Pumpkins & saw no injury. But stick the the correct rates on our temder young growth. I made my experiments while controlling Mites later in the year on leaves that were already hardened off by the heat of summer.

I still haven't seen a Cucumber Beetle or a Squash Viner Borer this year. For some reason I get more apprehensive when I DON'T see them than when I do. I know they're nearby, but I prefer the enemy I can see to the one I cannot LOL.
