They are eating the eggplants rather quickly. Large colonies under leaves. Tried water spray to no avail. Any ideas on a pesticide that might work.

"Water spray"... did you mean soapy water spray? Try that if you haven't. Usually kills all the insects on my plants.

Eggplants seem to attract more hungry insects than anything else. I dust mine with Sevin.

I'm using eggplant as a target plant to protect my potatoes this year. It seems to be working. Eggplants all holes; potatoes none. It seems that eggplant is a favorite for flea beetles. I used Rotenone to alleviate the beetles.

try a mulch around the egg plants...same with your potatoes ...We plant our potatoes in a straw and leaf mulch that is about 6 inches thick...Never had a problem with Colorado Potato Beatles since I have started doing this.
