Help! I have a split in a main vine about three feet from the stump that's rotten and oozing. Is there anything that I can do to help stave off any further problems?

Charlie...try sulphur powder, and wrapping over that and the split with guaze. you can get guaze pretty cheap at the drugstore.
I did it with my 1260 (but used Coban over the guaze too), and it sealed itself back shut.
