Alright all you experts, I need some of your awesome advice!

I've had several females simply die. They get to be a little smaller than a dime, and them simply dry up. I've never had this problem before.

Any suggestions?

P.S. I haven't been fertilizing at all over the past 2 weeks, and it's been warm, but nothing too extreme.

If you were using a high nitrogen fertilizer before the last two weeks that could still be the cause! Seems like you haven't had a lot of rain too to wash out the N...

I wasn't using any high Nitrogen fertilzer. Any other possibilities?

The same thing happened here last summer. I had mistakenly (sort of intentional...LOL) overapplied Giberellic acid by 400%. Once the plant recovered from "all maleness" the majority of the females died for several weeks.

I can't suggest you've done the same thing, but do watch the use of hormone containing supplements during fruitset. The manufacturers of the various "organic materials" (including kelp & seaweed) are not required to test their products for hormones since they cannot insure a consistant result from batch to batch & therefore make no written claims as to precent content.

But the all do contain some hormones.
