KYGROWER

KENTUCKY

If you check last years diaries, I think docgipe did some successfull proping up of the stem end. If you don't want to go that rount, maybee dig a "trench" for the main to grow into and the stem as the fruit continues to grow. Just insure there is 1. clearance so it doen't get smashed, 2. enough clearance so you can keep an eye on the stem, 3. the "trench" also slopes away so water can drain out of the trench so no rot. This is just an idea, I've never personally tried this, though.

Your "birdbath" also is affectionately known as a wheel, or a "wishing well"! (They usually weigh over the charts!). If you take it to the weigh-off and toss a few pennies into the well, you may tend to clean up on spare change.(But you'll have to grant a few wishes!)

Build the stem end up with pieces of styrofoam on the underside part of the fruit, works well.
