Since svb's like to leave their eggs on the leaves, leaf stems and vines...it is best to bury the main and secondaries. but here is the question...Would it be better to remove all leaves from the main so that you can limit the acess by the SVB to the main? or is the cure worse than the disease; would the plant see greater harm by removing the leaves?. The reason I pose this question is that I had to remove several secondaries do to the svbs but the main vine remained healthy so if they can't get into a leaf stem they can't get to the main that easy. Comments please....Chris

IMHO, that would indeed be a cure worse than the disease. Order some Merit -- systemic will kill the worms. Spray with Scimitar or TalstarOne to get the moths. -- Chris

Chrid DID use Merit. I am fast dicovering why Bayer didn't seek "supression" on the Admire label. I have observed fair-good control when the timing is perfect. But one false move & they get us. 90 days might even be too long. Merit plus a solid contact like Talstar/Capture & we're golden.

Chris, the "stuff" is in the truck. See you in the morning.

Let me tweak this.

Jim got very good kill when he came in a little late. But the damage was already done. Merit does kill them. But timing is critical.
