Are they in the vine already? or are you looking for a good preventative insecticide program?

We have found around here that 2 applications of Merit/Admire/Grubex or whatever Imidacloprid you have works but...............

2 applications at the lawn grub control rate (.3 lbs.AI/A) applied 60 days apart with the first being applied at planting.

When stretched to 90 days, Borers got some locals this year especially if they had gaps in their contact spray schedule.

SO..............

Then you still need to make about 2 applications of Bifenthrin at 4 week intervals or.........

3 applications of Lambda-cyhalothrin at 3 week intervals.

I can't say when you would want to start. Try to find a local resource in your area who is familiar with the local arrival dates of the hideous egg laying adults.

And I think that if they're in the vine already, you have to surgically remove them :( So far, I've been lucky and haven't had any.
