I use IE to log into BP.com as it is the most stable platform to use to log in. However, recently i have found that after being logged in for about 20 minutes i lose all the new message tags that are attached to each new posting since my last Login. I then have to trawl through all the message boards to see the latest posts on all the Boards. Is there a way to fix this problem other than to Login under my Nephews User/Login Name.

On the main page, you can select what date to use to compare to the dates of items on the site to determine what is new.

It sounds like your session is dying after 20 minutes. Do you have cookies turned on?

Thankyou for replying. I do have cookies turned on, the problem only appears to happen when i get alerts from McAfee asking me if i want to allow Norton/Symantec to auto update. Because of the time difference between here and the USA & Canada the feature on the date select can mean that some posts are not read or one has to read all through the boards from the previous day. Bit awkward to explain really but i have sort of fixed the problem for now.
Thanks
Regards
Mike

I have noticed the same thing. after I'm on the site for about a half hour the "new" tags disappear cookies are on somtimes when im checkeing for new posts at work i get distracted by work and when i get back i have to guess what is new. It does the same thing at home.

Same here. 30 minutes is about as long as the new posts remain "NEW".

Darn, Problem still persists even after turning off all auto updates ! I even tried a foolish thing and turned off all my Internet Security Software to see if that helped but no chance. Missing a lot of unread posts due to this.

Unfortunately, if your session dies or is restarted (leave and come back). You are tagged with a new "Last Visited" date.

At that point, your only option is to choose a day from the dropdown.

I just increased the session timeout from 20 minutes to 60 minutes.

The problem with suddenly loosing new posts still persists and that is why i am sending this whilst been logged in under my Nephews Nickname. I have all possible Auto Update Software and anything that may interupt has been turned off. As you can appreciate, with so many posts being put onto the Message Boards at this time, it is so anoying when all the posts flagged as new suddenly dissapear. I am sure that i am missing out on a lot of newly posted replies and Threads and have lost patience with trying to go through all the boards looking for whats new. As i type this i am expecting to loose all new posts when i return back to the other Message Boards.

Mike

I have the opposite. I can leave BP and even close the browser, come back and still have new signs even if I have already opened all of them before.
