We have registered about 700 new users in the past 3 days!
I am surprised our server handled the load to be honest.
I am very curious though, Who told you about the site? The only thing we can figure is that someone gave us some press.
Please respond to the thread with how you found out about us.

Well, it turns out that our free seeds page was included in a mass mailing by a website specializing in free products and services on the Internet.
That is why our entire seed inventory has been depleted. Everyone that followed the instructions on the free seeds page will receive their seeds. However, it will take us some time to sort through, package, and mail all of the seeds.
If you ordered seeds via the link provided in the mass mailing, make sure you know what you are getting into. One seed is capable of producing a plant that will overcome a 2,000 square foot garden. The seeds we are sending out are NOT samples; they are the real deal!
At any rate, to our new users, welcome to the site... we hope you find it entertaining as well as useful. We hope you give the hobby a try - it is very rewarding.

Hi John!
Let's just hope that those involved in the "mass mailing", actually use this site and attempt to grow those seeds! I , for one, would love to hear how well seeds I donated do in 2001. (the Kilbert 478#). I guess we're all lucky that those of us who have been growing for several years, and the newbies who are genuinely interested in growing these seeds, had the opportunity to obtain these seeds before those that just wanted something for "free". I'm worried that this may in the future, limit free seed availability to anyone that is seriously interested in growing them. Just my 2 cents, kilr

I see all the seeds on the free seeds list have been depleted to nothing, no more? i was wondering why the seeds that i sent in like more than a month ago to give away have never made it to the board? did you even get them, it would be really neat to see these seeds get posted? what happned are more seeds gonna be posted yet?

We were overwhelmed by the success of the free seeds page before the onslaught!
It turns out that it is a LOT of work to get seeds packaged and turned around in a professional manner. Most of this credit goes to Ken.
We did impose a limit of 4 packs per person per month. We never dreamed that the seeds would be snatched up by people that weren't big pumpkin growers. We will have to rethink our approach next time around.
I only hope that our new users give the hobby a chance and get hooked on it like we all did. Remember, the mission of the site is to get people started... It looks like we might just do it in a big way.
