I thought it would be a nice thing for the site to add a contacts page of heavy hitters and experienced people. It would be something us 'newbies' could draw off of to make some new friends and get to know some of the guys who have made this sport come so far. I know alot of the guys here already have alot of the contacts, but I'm not sure if the 'big guns' would want a bunch of emails from rookies..Maybe it could be used for reference come seed time or something...
Just a thought.

Stunner - I was thinking the same thing.
John - Ken it there anyway to differentiate the HH's via there screen Name? Like giving them a different colored screen name or a special caption/icon when they reply or posted.

Heavy Hitters - This would single you out so every one would know "who" you are. Would there be any objections?

BTW - What criteria used for classifying a Heavy Hitter?
- just wondering. Thanks, Ceis

The definition of "heavy hitter".....not exactly sure. I think we would have to come up with our own definition. Once we do, we could denote them in the message board in some way. As far as a contact page - we do have a Grower Detail page in the works now. People can post as much or as little contact info on their own grower page as they want. I am not sure if it will be done during the season though. We are trying to maintain our plants this time of year.

I like the idea of the Grower Detail page. It is interesting to find out what the other growers do besides grow pumpinks and sped the grocery money on Miracle Grow and irrigration equipment.

When any group such as this posts as much good solid information as this board supports I think you all should be thinking of ways to protect the heavy hitters so they continue to enjoy giving such help and example as they may.

As a heavy hitter in another field of interest I can assure you I get tired of E's and telephone calls from those who only want to score some kind of silly points for talking with so and so. Love, emulate, promote and appreciate your leaders. Please don't open the public doors more than they personally invite.

There are many times the information here than many will use. When we bat 800 or above consistently most heavy hitters will be glad to give that last little push to improve the swing of the hoe. That assumes we are truly standing there with a cracked hoe handle.

i think part of the fun of it all this growing pumpkins is figuring out on your own who knows what they are talking about for sure, who kind of knows what they are talking about and who probably doesn't know what they are talking about. Certainly success counts and you can't argue with it but there are many who i think aren't classified as heavy hitter who offer the best advise out there.
