About the last few months when I'm in chat it seems the screen is always blinking & refreshing. I'll type something & when I look up to read it only half of it is there from the screen jumping on me.
I have Roadrunner as my internet connection & have never had this problem till recently. Anybody got a quick fix for me.

Paul mine started when I upgraded to Internet Explorer 8. I uninstalled it and it started working right again. I have since reinstalled IE8 and it is doing it again.

When I downloaded IE8, I had problems with chat, I uninstalled and reinstalled IE7 and no problems.

IE8 bricked this and several other things, it was a major PITA to remove it and all the related and get back to a system that worked....

Ken I am using windows vista and when I installed IE 8 before it started meta refreshing, (it clicks then refreshes like every 5-10 seconds), in chat and when I put text in then hit enter it waits a little while then finally enters the info on the screen. I uninstalled IE 8 and it stopped doing that and worked right. I since have installed IE 8 again and it started doing the same thing as before. I almost hate going to chat now because of the way it acts when in chat. Is there something I might try to correct the problem?
Alos if I put the curser on the text box and click to put it there so that I can input text, sometimes it opens a drop down box showing everything I have entered in the past.

Same thing is happening here. And if you try to copy a link off of it you have to highlight it quick and hit copy before it refreshs, or it resets.

Thats what I was talking about Thomas. I've had 3 minutes pass between hitting send & it appearing.

I will have to try it on Windows 7 to see what it does. I don't have any Vista machines at the moment. If I can reproduce the issue I can try and fix it.

Here is the fix:
In order to enable and turn on Compatibility View mode for all web pages and websites, click on Tools menu, and select Compatibility View Settings. In the “Compatibility View Settings” dialog, tick the check box for Display all websites in Compatibility View option. Click on Close button when done.

I found an interesting tidbit while looking around the Tools menu. If your using Firefox like me click on Page Info, then click on the Security tab. In the middle of the window under Privacy & History it asks 'Have I visited this web site before today?' and off to the right it says 'Yes, 2,018 times' (for me anyways). And that doesn't count all the times I've gotten on here using other browsers and computers. Thought that was kinda funny.

Just did a little math, that would mean I've logged on here an average of 3-4 times per day since I first registered on the site, which sounds about right actually. lol
