my early plants for a state fair are up and sprouted and
were started on april 1st. two will go into the ground
in a heated portible greenhouse on sunday. april 30th
will be showtime for the big dogs for fall competition.

Last week in April here in the South the plant age's quickly, and most of the time I dont need cold frames this year it has alredy been 85F in this part of North Carolina.
I keep plastic on hand just in case though.

I started my seed the last week in April last year and the plants matured too fast even in my cooler-than-yours-climate. I'm going back to the first, to first week and a half in May.

My seeds will be started April 30th ( 3 seeds) then transplanted outdoors on May 7th. May 7th I will start 3 back-ups) ( of same plant) just incase something happens to first round of seeds. Not makeing the same mistake I did last year and ending up putting myself behind the game LOL
