Please help,

I've started my seeds indoors. They have sprouted very quickly (less than 48 hrs.) planted in containers filled with potting soil. I need to move them outside and need some advice.

How deep should I plant them? Even with the soil in the pot or all the way to the first leaves.

Also how long should I keep them in the pot before moving them outside? A few days, 1 week, ASAP?
Please Help

Thanks,

Steve

Hey Steve plenty of great growers out there on long island. From what I understand the idea is to get them outside before the roots outgrow the pot. So depending on the size of the peat pot or whatever you used when you bring them outside you want to be sure and not damage any of the root during transplanting. If you think that is right away you may have to think about keeping them warm at night with a cold frame. temperatures are supposed to drop into the low forties at night next week. Chuck..
