Ok, I grew up amongst the "old folks" who always swore by planting by moon phase. What are some thoughts on that? Does it really make that much difference with these AG's? Also, when planting by the moon my feeling is that means starting the seed by the moon, not transplanting by the moon. Any thoughts?

Mark, have you consulted a Farmer's Almanac?

Yeah, I generally plant by the dates in the Almanac, my question is...has anyone tried it both ways and is there really that much difference in plant success when planting by moon phase vs. other times?

My grandfather used to plant radishes and root crops when the moon was full. But he planted potatos march 17 every yr.
He used to say that deer would graze at night during a full moon,
I do use a farmers almanac to plant. never cared about the results.
