I also don't know when I should start my seeds. I live in Iowa and this is my very first garden. Thanks, Tina tsheckles@mwci.net

HI tina,
I live in WI. I usually start my seeds sometime during the last week of april inside, and transplant them out side during the first week of May with cold frames over them. Since you live in Iowa...starting in late April and transplanting in early may would be ideal for you also. Just make sure when they are transplanted out side in early may, that you have something to cover them with at night if it gets cold....it is crucial for the seedling to survive. It seems, in WI anyway, that spring will be colder than it has in the last couple years.

Iowa is zone 5-6 so don't start until the begining of May. If you are in the northern most part of IA maybe a week or two later.AG Pumpkins always grow about 120 days.
